Replacement of the existing King George Boulevard bailey bridge and timber trestle bridge spanning the Nicomekl River. Widening of King George Boulevard to accommodate a second southbound lane. The project works not only include the bridge replacements but also involve a pedestrian and wildlife crossing under the south side of the bridge and a wildlife crossing under the north side of the bridge, ancillary upgrades and enhancements to the roadway of King George Boulevard, upgrade to existing dikes including drainage culvert extensions, on both sides of the Nicomekl River and King George Boulevard and a new pedestrian boardwalk across a wetland on the landside of the existing north dike. Dike embankments along the Nicomekl River adjacent to the bridge to provide pedestrian access to the elevated road approaches. Reconstruction of the Highway 99 Eastbound Off-Ramp and development of a new Roadway connecting Nicomekl Road to King George Boulevard also included in the project works.
